Incorporated in 1979, Hot Springs County Couseling Services (HSCCS) has been an integral part of Hot Springs County's health services. As a private, non-profit organization, we strive to provide necessary treatment and prevention services for the citizens of our county. Located in Thermopolis, our agency is situated in the lower Big Horn Basin at the north end of the Wind River Canyon on the Big Horn River. Known for its hot springs, Thermopolis is a small community in the smallest county in the state. Its economy is derived from oil reserves, agriculture and tourism. We serve a population of approximately 5,000 people.

Services

HSCCS supplies a wide variety of adult and children's services as an outpatient clinic. Our clinical staff are professionally licensed and our agency is state certified. We are presently preparing for CARF accreditation. All this is an effort to bring our clients the best services possible. Several or our clinicians specialize in specific areas of treatment including child and family therapies, trauma, vocational counseling, disaster mental health interventions and EMDR therapy.

Our adult services include individual and group therapy, medication management, psychiatric consultation, vocational rehabilitation, case management, and consultation and referral services.

Our children and family services include many of the same interventions as adult services and also include family-based assessments, therapeutic foster care, and play therapy. We have therapists that specialize in treating children and their families.

Hours of Operation

HSCCS is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM except for being closed Noon to 1 PM. We are also open Monday night from 5 PM to 8 PM for the convenience of our clients who work. We are on call for emergency services through the hospital and law enforcement center after hours.

Referral to Services

Anyone wishing to obtain services from HSCCS can phone or drop in at our office and fill out an intake form. After that you will be contacted with a time for your initial visit. We strive to have contact with all persons referred within 72 business hours unless they wish other arrangements. All services are charged on a sliding fee scale and your fee is based on your income and ability to pay. We file insurance and are Medicaid approved service providers. We also have several EAP's to which we are preferred providers.
