PCS: Pioneer Counseling Services

Pioneer Counseling Services Main Office - Evanston, Wyoming
Main Office
Evanston, WY

Pioneer Counseling Services, serving Uinta County and located in the extreme southwest corner of Wyoming, is the only full service, community based mental health facility in the county. The center provides a comprehensive array of outpatient services to all residents of the area. Additionally, the center owns and operates a group living facility and monitored independent living apartments with services and supports tailored to the needs of persons with serious and persistent mental illness. The center also operates a network of professionally supported therapeutic foster homes for children experiencing significant emotional difficulty.

The center's goal is to provide the highest quality, most affordable, professional mental health services available, in an environment that is genuinely compassionate and concerned about the well-being of each of the persons that we serve. All services provided are tailored to the individual needs and desires of the person receiving those services. At the time of initial contact a plan for treatment is carefully developed with the direct participation and approval of the person involved. A clear explanation of services, rights, responsibilities and a method to provide feedback on services is provided to each of the center's clients.

The services are available to all persons on a non-discriminatory basis and on a sliding fee scale, which is based on household income. All agency staff adhere to strict codes of professional conduct and confidentiality. Services are available in five locations throughout the county, both during and after regular business hours. The center also provides emergency service 24 hours a day.

The center operates as a private, non-profit organization that is governed by a Board of Directors made up of area residents. We operate with the financial support of federal, state, county and city governments and bill services to numerous insurance carriers, managed care organizations, employee assistance programs, Medicaid and Medicare.

Basic services provided by the center include Individual, Group, Child and Adolescent, Family and Marital Therapy. We also provide Home Based services for troubled youth and their families, Employee Assistance Programs, Therapeutic Foster Care, Vocational Services, Independent Living Support, Monitored Apartments, a Group Living Home, Case Management, Inpatient After Care and Follow Up, Hospital Diversion, Psychiatric Consultation, Medication Management, Community Education, Professional Consultation, Psychological Testing and Emergency Intervention.
