Southwest Counseling Service is a comprehensive community mental health and substance abuse treatment center that is committed to provide everyday solutions for everyday people.

Southwest Counseling is also proud to be the first center in the state of Wyoming to be accredited by the Commission to Accredit Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and has been since the initial accreditation in 2001.
Our licensed staff has been providing services to Sweetwater County for over 40 years and continues to provide services at four convenient locations in Rock Springs and Green River.

We serve children, adolescents, individuals and families of all ages. Our services are specific to each client’s need and can include:

Southwest Counseling Service provides mental health services to adults, children, adolescents and families. All of our Mental Health Services are outpatient services and are based on the needs of each individual. Southwest Counseling Service provides comprehensive mental health services including:

Psychiatric Services

Southwest Counseling Services provides Psychiatric Services for adults, children and adolescents to find
medical solutions to help manage emotions and behavior.

Southwest Counseling Service's Psychiatric Team provides clients with current diagnoses and effective
treatment. Services can include:

Southwest Counseling Service provides substance abuse services to adults, adolescents and families.
Our Recovery Services are designed to provide support, education, life skills, knowledge and tools to fight

Southwest Counseling’s Bridges Program (Psychosocial Services) provides daily services for adults who have a serious mental illness such as bipolar disorder, sever major depression and/or schizophrenia.

The purpose of the Bridges Program (Psychosocial Services) is to assist clients in crossing the bridges of life. The program enables individuals with a serious mental illness to live a meaningful life in the community while achieving his/her full potential. The program includes:

• Group Therapy
• Case Management
• Agency Based Treatment
• Physician Assistant (PA)
• Psychiatric Services
• Peer Specialist Services
• Individual Rehabilitative Services (IRS)
• Pathways Drop-In Community Center
• Transitions Home & Semi-Independent Living
• Job Coaching

Prevention Services

Southwest Counseling Service also provides an ongoing prevention program to educate youth and the
community about the dangers of alcohol, drugs and tobacco. The prevention team also works to create
more knowledge about communicable diseases and suicide. Prevention services can include:

• Underage Drinking & Prevention Based Youth Groups
• Sweetwater County Tobacco Prevention Program
• Responsible Drinking Campaign (0-0-1-3)
• Community Assessments for Responsible Events (C.A.R.E.)
• Responsible Beverage Server Training (T.I.P.S.)
• Prevention Advisory Council
• Real AIDS Prevention Project (R.A.P.P) and Hepatitis Awareness
• Sweetwater County Suicide Prevention Coalition
• Additional Prevention Education
